In the fall of 1997, Jason, Daniel and Doug went to see their friends Spungun play a show at the Iron Horse in Easley, SC. PNX and World Against World were also playing. PNX ended up not showing and they had only heard a couple of Spungun's songs. World Against World put on the greatest performance they had ever seen or heard. In the middle of their show one of the members pulled out a bible and had the audience sit down and listen as he preached about what God had lay on his heart. That night Jason and Doug realized that the dedication they saw in those guys defined their ministry. That's when they started talking about forming a band. They started writing some songs and bought a guitar and bass. A year later they met Philip through the former bassist of the Enemies (Roman.) That was when Tredthreat was born; Roman-Bass, Jason-Guitar, Philip-Drums and Doug-Vocals. They started making music and played their first shows in the summer of 1999. Steve joined later in the fall on guitar. Katie Pund then atarted managing the band not long afterwards. In March 2000, Roman and Steve decided to leave due to musical differences and started a new project, Sindrome. This left Tredthreat without a bassist. But then Daniel Greene, their most dedicated supporter, decided join the band as the new bass player. And here they are....
The entire purpose of Tredthreat is very simple: We are a ministry. We want our music to bring praise to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We want our lives to reflect the grace He shows us everyday and the life He gave for each of us. Our focus is to reach those who do not know the Truth or those who have been blined to it. We also want our music to be an inspiration to other Christians to start their own ministry.
